| Q: What is the mCX USB Charger? A: The mCX USB Charger is a small, convienent alternative way to charge the battery for your radio controlled mCX helicopter, Ember, Vapor or Cibritia airplanes through the USB port of a computer. |
| Q: What kind of connector does the charger use for the USB end? A: Our charger uses a USB Mini B Female connector |
| Q: Can I power it without a computer? A: Yes! The USB Mini B connector used is the same one used on MANY popular portable electronics such as Blackberries, Garmin Nuvi and TomTom GPS receivers, Motorola Razr/Krazr phones and many other devices. Since the USB standard is used on these devices, the power adapter output the same voltage on the same pin and are compatible with our charger. This means you can use it in the house, in the car, boat, ect. |
| Q: How do I know that the battery is charging? A: A red status LED on the charger will light when a depleted battery is plugged in. This indicates that the charging cycle has started. |
| Q: How do I know when the battery is completed charging? A: The red status LED will go out at the end of the charging cycle. |
| Q: Can this damage/overcharge my battery? A: No, the charging controller is smart enough to know when the charging cycle is complete and the cell is full. It will then cut all voltage to the cell off. Even if you plug in a fully charged cell, the charger will sense the cell is full and prevent the charge cycle from starting. |
| Q: The E-Flite manual says to ONLY use their charger. Is your charger safe? A: Yes, our charger is completely safe. In fact, we feel that our charger is safer after inspecting a stock E-Flite charger. Our charger uses an advanced controller IC that monitors the cell's voltage throughout the entire charging cycle. When the cycle is complete, the charging voltage is removed to prevent damage/puffing to the cell. |
